VISION : WMC HARITHAJEEVANAM  is a non-profit  Civil Society Action Project for Integrated Management  of Domestic Waste to convert 100% waste in to wealth. It is pioneered by the World Malayalee Council (www.worldmalayalee.org) with the vision of creating and harnessing social energy to promote WEALTH, WELLNESS AND  SOCIAL HARMONY in the neighbourhood.

WMC HARITHAJEEVANAM  is powered  by WMC Women's Forum, Altius Youth (www.altiusyouth.com) and  Green Kerala Foundation-which is a registered trust under WMC.

WMC HARITHAJEEVANAM   brings together interested people in a neighbourhood and provide TRAINING and MATERIALS to them with the following objectives:

1. Segregate waste within the residential premises,
2. Make compost using Pelrich Composorb,  a special media for fast conversion of   waste in to soil-less planting media . 
3. Grow organic food using the compost,  availing support extended by local self government bodies 
4. Sell recyclables like  plastics and paper.
5. Converting 100% waste in to wealth, enhancing  health, wealth and happiness

WMC HARITHAJEEVANAM   has  selected  Pelrich Composorb, for making compost for the following reasons

• No bad odour  even from fish and meat wastes
• No worms when used properly, as the composting is facilitated by non-pathogenic (harmless)  bacteria, yeast, fungus etc.
• It is a safe natural product which  is approved  by the Kerala Suchitwa Mission
• The compost can be used as a soil-less planting media, ideal  for growing organic food and flower beds 

WMC HARITHAJEEVANAM   members are free to choose any other method  or use any other medium other than Pelican Composorb for making compost and continue to derive other benefits of Harithajeevanam for making kitchen garden and economic disposal of plastics and paper wastes.

WMC  is propagating  WMC Harithajeevanam   all over Kerala through  local partnerships with various social organizations, community groups, resident associations, Ayalkoottams etc., to realise the dream of a waste-free Kerala, while enhancing Health, Wealth and Happiness.

WMC  welcomes  all interested Keralites (Resident and Nonresident) to join this  not for profit Civil Society Action Project by initiating a WMC Harithajeevanam   unit in places of their interest  to carry out Integrated Domestic Waste Management.
